Morella, Peñíscola, Bocairent, Xàtiva, Polop. Each with its own character, its own rhythm, and that ability to turn a getaway into something that stays with you.
There's a type of plan that doesn't need much organization. Just a car, a desire to get out, and a general idea of where to go. The Valencian Community has this often-underestimated advantage: in less than two hours from almost any point, you can be somewhere completely different, with a different light, a different pace, and a different landscape.
These towns demonstrate this well. They are very different from each other, but they share something: when you arrive, you understand why people keep coming back. And when you leave, you're already thinking about when to return.
Morella — The city that makes you feel small
Morella is unlike any other place in the Community. Perched on a rock with its castle watching from above and the medieval wall enclosing the perimeter, it has that scale that makes you feel like you're in another era from the moment you cross the entrance gate.
The plan here is simple: get lost. Climb towards the castle unhurriedly, stop at a local spot in the old town, try the truffled dish that is so famous in these lands, and gaze at the landscape from the walls while the Maestrat wind reminds you that this is not the coast.
It's a place to go slowly and with an appetite. And to arrive with something that matches that particular green of the horizon from up here.

Peñíscola — When the sea changes everything
Peñíscola works best outside of high season. In spring, before summer truly arrives, the old town has that special quality of places that haven't yet been overrun: stone streets, the Castle of Papa Luna overlooking the Mediterranean, and a blue that fills everything.
The perfect plan here begins with climbing to the historic quarter early, when the light is still low and people are scarce, and ends at a terrace facing the sea with something cold in hand and the whole afternoon ahead. One of those days that needs nothing more to be perfect.
The sea, that light, that color. Some things never change.

Bocairent — True inland, no compromises
Bocairent is one of those towns that surprise you because you don't expect so much. The historic center, declared a historical-artistic site, is perched on the rock with architecture so integrated into the terrain that it seems to have grown there. And the caves of Barranc de la Covalta, carved into the stone, are one of those things you don't easily forget.
Here the landscape is that of inland Valencia in all its splendor: low mountain, stone, ancient olive trees and a silence that is hard to find elsewhere. The kind of place where olive oil on toast in the middle of the morning tastes different, because everything tastes different when the surroundings match.
A Sunday in Bocairent is a reminder of what the Community has beyond the coast.

Xàtiva — History, castle and the pleasure of not rushing
Xàtiva has that category of a small city with a rich past and a very good present. Birthplace of the Borgias, with a castle that dominates the Canyoles valley from above and an old town full of palaces, churches, and corners that invite you to slow down.
But if there's one thing that makes a visit to Xàtiva a perfect plan, it's what happens after coming down: finding a table in a local spot in the center, ordering something from the local cuisine —the arròs al forn, the red shrimp, anything well-made— and letting the midday linger without too many intentions. It's that kind of city where the after-meal conversation isn't forced, it just happens. Where conversation blends with the background noise of long-standing local establishments and no one is in too much of a hurry to leave. A plan that begins with history and ends, almost unintentionally, with the afternoon already upon you.

Polop — Orange groves, mountains and the rhythm you need
Polop de la Marina is one of those towns that hasn't yet lost its scale. A few kilometers from Benidorm but in a completely different world, this small municipality in Marina Baixa has cobbled streets, white facades and the scent of orange blossoms that defines everything in spring.
The fountain of 221 spouts in the town square is the center of gravity of any visit, but the best thing is simply to let yourself be carried away by the layout of the old town, look at the mountain from the viewpoints and understand why people who discover Polop return. Not to do much. To be.
In spring, with the orange trees in bloom and that soft afternoon light, it's hard to find anything better.

The Valencian Community has that ability to surprise when you stray a little from the known. And sometimes all it takes for a day to be special is knowing where to go, packing light, and not being in too much of a hurry to return.
The T-shirts from the new spring collection are designed for exactly those kinds of days. The ones that aren't planned much, but are remembered a lot.
